About Camp Kivu
Camp KIVU was established in 1996 under the name Kanakuk Colorado. In 2001, a facility in Durango Colorado was built and operated under the Kanakuk banner. After a wonderfully successfull 10 years as Kanakuk, Andy and Jamie Jo Braner had the opportunity to move to Durango and make KIVU their full time mission.
We have BIG dreams to help teenagers learn valuable life lessons as they experience the Creator inside the boundaries of the Creation. Rock Climbing, Backpacking, Fly Fishing, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, River Rafting, and a program on Vallecito Lake make KIVU an exciting, adventurous place for any teenager. If you're interested in experiencing something new, and making friends from around the world, Camp KIVU is the place for you.

And some might say, "WOW, if they have all that stuff, it sounds like a teenager's dreamland." And they'd be right.
But we don't stop there.
We believe the mentorship and training portion of the program will help set up a teenager to explore the deepest parts of Faith. With a curriculum designed to be teen friendly, the staff at Camp KIVU want to help guide and direct students to an understanding of the Chrisitan Worldview. We believe as students go off to the University with a solid foundation of Faith, they'll be prepared to excel in their academic life, their social life, and their understanding of Who God is and why they serve Him.
We are a place that partners with families and communities around the globe to help teenagers engage in a life with all the gifts God made in them.
There are exciting things going on here at KIVU, and we hope you'll come and join us in the abundant life God came to give us.
